Writing is hard. Writing while isolated at home is even harder. So let’s support each other by writing together this summer!

New for 2020, the Write Together at Home graduate writing summer program provides graduate and professional students and post-docs with community, structure, and resources to support their writing. This program is designed to kick-start summer writing practice during the month of June, as well as to help establish writing practices and peer writing networks that will sustain writing throughout the summer.

This four-week program (June 1-26, 2020) includes the following:

  • Writing group meetings: Students will be placed in small groups of 4-5 writers based on responses to the registration form. These groups will meet on Zoom every Monday in June to discuss goals, progress, and challenges in the writing practice/process.

  • Write-Ins: In addition to the small group meetings, this program will offer four two-hour write-ins during the week. These write-ins are optional opportunities to write together with a supportive community.

  • Consultations with writing tutors: During the write-ins, experienced writing consultants from the Graduate Writing Service and ELSO will be available for short individual meetings to provide writing feedback and advice.

  • Canvas site: This program uses a dedicated Canvas site to facilitate ongoing asynchronous conversations about writing practices, to share resources and materials, and to reflect on writing goals and experiences.
