The KNIGHTLYnews is an online forum where FWS instructors and other teachers of writing can swap and share ideas for best classroom practice. Weekly posts are designed to help teachers develop lesson plans and writing assignments, and respond to classroom challenges by introducing new teaching tools and sharing emerging pedagogical ideas. Posts also direct readers to program and campus resources that support teaching and learning, and provide opportunities for peer collaboration and mentorship. #teachlikeabear
AI Workshop for FWS Instructors
- Wednesday, February 19
- 4:30-6:00pm
- 103 Rockefeller Hall
Join Kate Navickas, Scott Sorrell, and Tracy Carrick to discuss both what we are seeing (student use of AI) and what we are or could be doing as writing teachers to develop critically-engaged, AI-aware pedagogy.
We invite observations about what we are noticing–how are students using AI? How is AI-use affecting their writing and the writing classroom? We also look forward to sharing resources like effective AI policies, classroom discussions of AI, and activities or assignments that encourage students to use AI in ethical ways that support learning.
The workshop is intended to be a space to discuss, brainstorm approaches, share resources, and develop confidence in how to approach AI in your FWS.
Please RSVP by Wednesday, February 12 by completing this google form: Register for the Knight Institute AI Workshop for FWS Instructors
